I had a hard time making a title for this post because the phrasing of this concept is problematic.
The idea of attracting “a” twin flame implies that you want to attract anyone who might be a twin flame. This implies the idea of attracting an intense love that will be deeper and more profound than any you’ve ever known. That is a pop culture definition of twin flames, but not a good one. This quest for a deep, profound love is noble and exciting. But calling it a twin flame can get you into hot water quickly. You’d be better off trying to attract a “soulmate” or simply a “deep and profound love” than a twin flame.
The idea of attracting “your” twin flame is closer to the truth of what a twin flame actually is. Maybe too close, if we’re honest. This phrasing implies the idea of attracting your own soul embodied in another human being. If that is truly what you’re looking for, then this is the right quest. However, I find that most people who are looking for their twin flame are actually looking for the deep, profound love described previously. If they understood the life-altering intensity of twin flame relationships, they might not be so eager to attract theirs.
True twin flames are drawn to each other because they ARE each other. You don’t have to embark on a quest — literally or energetically — for your twin flame. If they are embodied on this planet for you to find, you will find each other organically because there will be a magnetic attraction between you.
True twin flames are rare in comparison to the number of humans on earth seeking a romantic, passionate, loving, secure, thriving relationship. And if you ask anyone who is truly on a twin flame journey to describe their relationship with their twin flame, you will probably get a host of other adjectives…and none of those. Twin flames are here to challenge each other, to rip the bandaid off of your core wounds, catapult you into the dark night of the soul, and accelerate spiritual healing and ascension in a way that is anything but romantic, passionate, loving, secure, and thriving. It’s more like hell on earth, at least for a while. And when the twin flame journey does result in a long term, physical, 3D relationship, it’s only after years of growing separately as individuals and transmuting core wounds that you can both be ready for a relationship in the 3D.
I also want to mention that some twin flames are found on the other side of the veil. Some were embodied and have crossed over or they are in a different realm and cannot be embodied in the 3D, so you cannot have a physical relationship with them. In these cases, once again, you cannot help finding each other. They will come to you in the astral, in dreams, in meditations, etc. It will be a profound experience, but it will not be physical and embodied.
You may already be spiritually evolved and wondering if your soul is currently, simultaneously, embodied elsewhere — either in this realm or another. That question would be fascinating to delve into. If you are experiencing this level of draw to finding your twin flame, regardless of their physical 3D availability, then you are spiritually evolved enough to handle whatever the Universe throws at you on your quest. It must be part of your journey to seek a deeper experience of your soul than most mortals are looking for. This would be fun to discuss in another post.
These rare cases help us to understand how attracting a (or your) twin flame is not something most people would (or should) intentionally seek, but something that will find you if it belongs to your soul’s journey. For most people seeking romance and passion, a twin flame — if such a divine counterpart actually exists for that person, in this world, right now — would bring a level of soul pain and growth that is only romantic for the first few weeks or months, and then suddenly spirals into darkness, rips your emotions apart, and eventually turns into an awakening journey.
Clearly the twin flame journey is not for everyone. It is not for the feint of heart. It is difficult and harrowing. It will take you to the edge of sanity before it brings you the most profound peace of NOT being in a relationship with another person, but in a sacred relationship of oneness with your own soul and the Universe.
If you want to attract the love of your life, a soulmate relationship is more aligned and realistic and — (no) thanks to the internet and the false teachers out there — what most people are actually looking for when they say “twin flame”.
