I see this question asked a lot with a certain degree of offense behind it. Why do I have to do all the work on the twin flame journey? Why is it all on the woman? It’s always on the feminine to do all the work. It’s not fair!
I believe that much of this attitude comes from the pervasive concepts in our historical social climate, where women seem to do all the emotional work in a relationship.
And I don’t disagree with the frustration that women typically feel in the situation. I’ve been there too and it is definitely frustrating to feel that even a therapist looks to the female partner to be the one to do most of the healing work and hopes that the male partner will catch up at some point. Far too many therapists put little pressure on the male partner and force the female to look at her actions and how she is reacting to her partner.
This problem is especially prevalent in so-called Christian counseling, where the pervasive viewpoint is that men are seeking respect and women are seeking love. And that if women could just respect their men, then the man would turn around and give the woman the love she wants.
First of all, that’s all bullshit. I’m not going to get into it here but you can’t just divide men and women into love and respect needs and call it a day. That is completely shallow and disrespectful in and of itself toward both partners. As if women don’t crave respect? As if men don’t crave love? Spare me.
But bringing this back to the matter at hand, we are not talking about traditional male and female relationships. In fact, we’re not talking about gender roles or sexual preferences at all. And we’re also not talking about regular relationships. We are talking about twin flames and that is a completely different matter. You can no more compare a twin flame connection to an average, everyday human partnership than you can compare a cat to a pineapple.
So to the original question, why do I have to do all the work? First of all, you are the divine feminine. This is a rather faulty human label that we have given to the spiritually activated counterpart in the twin flame connection.
It doesn’t matter if you identify as male or female, or if your counterpart is male or female. And we can argue that this is a terrible label. But for the moment it is what it is so we’re going to work with it.
As the divine feminine you are this spiritually activated counterpart in the connection. The Divine masculine is not spiritually activated, even if they are spiritual. The Divine masculine operates in the lower three chakras and it takes a while, maybe a long while, for them to begin to understand what this connection means and how it works. Some will never get it.
As you are shifting on this journey, you have to shift into a unity mindset. You can’t continue thinking of traditional relationships and making comparisons. You and your counterpart are one soul and you, divine feminine, happen to be the one who is on The Awakening journey and you have to pull all of that energy back to yourself and do the work of Awakening.
You are not doing the work on the relationship. Let’s be very clear about that. If you happen to be in an active relationship with your Divine counterpart, and they are acting in ways that are inappropriate to a human relationship, then it is completely reasonable to expect them to do their part of the work on the emotional side of the relationship.
But it must be understood that the Divine masculine cannot do the spiritual work. Only the divine feminine can. And once you accept and lean into that reality, you will begin to shift in deeply meaningful ways that change your life completely.
You will shift into unity consciousness and the fact that your soul is in two bodies will simply become a joyful and mysterious aspect of what you are learning on your spiritual awakening journey.
You will stop thinking of your Divine counterpart as separate from you and realize that you are absolutely one at the very core of your being. At the soul level.
You are not doing the work for two people. You are doing the work for one soul.
